Trip Planner is a feature in ExportMyMap that turns a Google Maps saved list into an editable travel itinerary. You can group places by day, reorder stops, and open each day's route in Google Maps.
Create a plan from a saved list
- Install the ExportMyMap Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store. Open Google Maps on your computer and launch the extension.
- Choose your saved list, wait for the scan to finish, and select the places you want to include.
- Click Plan a trip. ExportMyMap opens the selected places in an editable itinerary.
If you already have an ExportMyMap list link, open it and choose the Plan tab beside Cards and Table.
Arrange places and open daily routes
The first draft uses up to 15 places with known coordinates, excluding any marked permanently closed. It creates up to three days with no more than five stops per day. Remaining places stay in Not in plan. These limits apply only to the first draft.
Move places between days, reorder stops, add days, or remove places from the itinerary. To divide the full list again, choose a new number of days and rebuild the plan. Rebuilding replaces your manual arrangement.
The suggested order uses straight-line distances between places. Choose Open route in Google Maps beside a day to open its stops in the planned order. Longer days may be split into several route links. Check travel times in Google Maps and opening hours separately.
Save and share a trip plan
Saving a new itinerary to My Plans requires active paid access. If your draft hasn't already been saved, choose Save plan. You can then reopen it from My Plans; later edits save automatically.
Use Share plan to send someone a link. Guests can also share a snapshot, but it is not saved to My Plans. For a copy to take with you, download the itinerary as a PDF or print it.
