What the video shows
A saved list turned into a spreadsheet: exported as XLSX from Google Maps, opened in a desktop spreadsheet app, then imported into Google Sheets from the same file.
0:00 — Install the extension
The clip opens on a title card — Turn your saved places into Excel or CSV in seconds — over a preview of the finished sheet: Name, Address, Latitude, Longitude, Website and Notes columns. Then the Chrome Web Store listing and the install.
0:30 — Pick the list and the places
The panel opens over Google Maps on a list called Travel plans, with all fourteen places selected and a Deselect all control for narrowing it down. Load details to activate filters fetches the per-place fields that fill the spreadsheet columns.
0:42 — Export as Excel
Excel sits in the file row of the export panel next to CSV, JSON, GeoJSON, KML and GPX. One click downloads an XLSX workbook named after the list and the date — around ten kilobytes for a list this size.
0:50 — Open the workbook
The file opens in a desktop spreadsheet app with the columns already populated and typed: website domain, rating, review count, category and the rest. Nothing needs reformatting before it can be sorted or filtered.
1:08 — Import into Google Sheets
The same XLSX goes into Google Sheets through File → Import, with Replace spreadsheet selected, and lands as a normal sheet. No CSV round-trip, no encoding dialog, no manual column splitting.
